Proper makeup removal is just as important as proper makeup application. Leaving makeup on your face can clog pores and cause unwanted breakouts. There are many makeup-removing products in the beauty world to chose from, including Boscia’s own Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil. Check out my remove to see if this product is worth giving a try, or not worth the buy.

Just like with Boscia’s purifying gel cleanser, the Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil is free of parabens, sulfates, and preservatives. The refreshing cleansing oil is designed to dissolve impurities and makeup without leaving an oily residue. It is made with antioxidants and botanicals to soothe and protect skin. The Hydrangea leaf helps to purify skin and minimize pores, geranium is used to help invigorate skin while supporting natural circulation, and botanical amino acids leave skin smooth and free of impurities.
The Review
It is imperative to read instructions prior to using a product. I did not and used this product all wrong in the beginning Lol Unlike the cleansing gel, the makeup cleansing oil is to be applied on a dry face. Then, using circular motions with your fingers removes makeup. Afterwards, just rinse with water.
I would strongly suggest not using this product in the shower, because it does not work well on a damp/wet face. That was how I used it initially, and I did not like it at all. I ended up using more product because I felt like it was just drying up as soon as I put it on my face. However, when I used it on dry skin the results were better. I’m still not a huge fan. Even after using the cleansing oil I would still end up washing my face with the purifying cleansing gel to get whatever was left behind.
The Price
Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil. can be purchased at Sephora.com and Boscia.com for $30.00.
Final Thoughts
I would still recommend this product because it gets the job done. It’s a makeup remover and it does actually remove makeup. However, once I finish with the product I have left I doubt I’ll purchase anymore. I really don’t care for the oil texture of the product. I like more wet feeling products that lather up. The Purifying Cleansing Oil (which I still love) can also be used as a makeup removing agent and I think it does a better job.
If you’ve ever tried the makeup cleansing oil, or any other Boscia product, please let us know! We’d love to hear your thoughts. Next up for review is the Boscia Exfoliating Peel Gel.
